just like heaven

just like heaven is just like almost every other romantic comedy out there. that's not a bad thing, but don't go expecting any big surprises. mark ruffalo and reese witherspoon play convincing lovers who meet through chance(?) when ruffalo rents the apartment witherspoon is "haunting." at first, there is some confusion between the two over who isn't the crazy one, but as ruffalo helps witherspoon gain her memory, love blooms.

there is a very hilarious bar-scene, and a few very sweet moments. mark performs perfectly, talking to "air" half the time. and the music is quite appropriate (the cure's "just like heaven" is on the soundtrack, plus an interesting remake of this song by Katie Melua).

overall, i think this film was done as well as it could have been done. i give it 2 potatoes.
